CTET  2022 Eligibility Criteria

Primary Stage (Class I to V) 

  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
  • “(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatory undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as a primary teacher”.

Elementary Stage (Class VI to VIII)

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc. B.Ed or B.A. B.Ed/B.Sc. B.Ed OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).OR
  • Any candidate having a qualified B.Ed.  programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

 

CTET 2022 Exam Selection Process 
  • All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate.
  • Each carries one mark and there will be no negative marking.
  • There will be two papers on CTET.
      1. Paper – I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
      2. Paper – II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
